USA Swimming Proposal on HOD Changes Voted Down
The USA Swimming proposal to change the structure and reduce the size of the House of Delegates (HOD) was defeated tonight by the voting delegates at the special meeting of the HOD.
The other eight proposals on the agenda, which changed the make-up of the Board of Directors and the Committees, among other things, passed.
The deadline to pass revised bylaws and seat the new HOD to bring USA Swimming into compliance with Congressional and USOPC mandates is the last day of 2021. The next scheduled meeting of the House of Delegates in September, although a special meeting could be called sooner.
USA Swimming Board of Directors Chairman Bob Vincent said the next steps will be announced soon, before adjourning tonight’s meeting.
