Team Manager/Head Coach Job Announcement Overview Poulsbo Piranha Swim Team (PPST) is a year-round competitive club that operates at two pools serving the North and Central Kitsap communities. We have approximately 80 future Olympians ranging from age 7 to 18. We are a parent led 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that values competition, personal growth, and comradery. PPST is a Pacific Northwest Swimming and USA Swimming affiliate and has produced swimmers at high levels, including Junior and Senior National qualifiers.
Duties
The Team Manager/Head Coach is the Executive Employee/Team Manager of the club is expected to demonstrate leadership, encourage participation and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of swimming and reports to a parent volunteer Board of Directors. Examples of specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Acts as the Team Manager/Head Coach
- Hires, directs, manages, and mentors the coaching staff
- Provides coaching/staff oversight at both pool locations
- Interfaces with the pool managers
- Establishes and maintains practice and meet schedules on team website
- Develop, communicate, and follows an annual plan for the team
- Enforce team rules and policies as well as pool rules and regulations.
- Assist and support all team-related activities, parties, fundraisers
- Promotes a fun, competitive, team environment
- Oversees the placement, training, and advancement of all swimmers
- Ensures dryland training is conducted as part of team practices
- Overseas team practices for all age groups, and primarily coaches the gold/senior group
- Proactively communicates with the board of directors, coaching staff and membership
- Maintains all required certifications
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- ASCA Level 3 or higher certification (required)
- Ability to maintain all USA Swimming coach requirements (required)
- Three or more years coaching experience with a competitive swim team (required)
- Competitive swimming experience (required)
- College Degree (preferred)
- Experience with the Team Unify platform, Hy-Tek Software, Colorado Timing equipment, and is generally tech savvy (required)
- Driver’s License and transportation (required)
Compensation
Compensation is based on ASCA Level, degree(s) held, knowledge, and experience. The Head Coach is a salaried position. All PPST coaches receive reimbursement for appropriate meet expenses, professional certifications, and coaching memberships. PPST also provides a training and education budget.
