If you answered yes to all the questions above, then you should know Congressional Country Club is seeking a Head Swimming Coach and Head Dive Coach. Each Coach is responsible for delivering a world class experience for the members of Congressional Country Club. The team member will lead and support the organization and running of the Aquatics teams and assist The Aquatics committee with swimming and diving team registrations, practices, and meets as well as corresponding associated events.
The Head Swimming Coach and Aquatics Teams Manager will direct the assistant swimming coaches in the administration and coaching of the Congressional Swimming team. The team member will conduct swimming practices and individual swimming lessons in a safe and responsible manner. The team member will attend all functions of the swimming team from the first practice through the Swimming and Diving Banquet. The team member will support the Diving coaches in the delivery of an excellent diving program for the Congressional members.

What will be expected of you:

  • Attends all practices, meets and team functions throughout the season.
  • Plans for the progressive growth of the individual Congressional swimmers and for the Congressional Swim and Dive Team
  • Works with the Aquatics committee chairman to recruit and develop parent officials for the swimming and diving meets.
  • Prepares and enters the competition line-ups for swimming and dive meets.
  • Coordinates the posting of swim and dive meet line ups before the competitions and results after the competitions.
  • Assigns, directs and supports tasks to be completed by the assistant coaches.
  • Works with the coaches and Aquatics Committee Communications contact to send regular parent emails and prompts for athlete registration and swimming and diving meets
  • Keeps tract of team, pool and CCSDA records, updating the information boards and the club website.
  • Prepares and submits a report of all records necessary for inclusion in the CCSDA Champs program.
  • Assists with practice and meet set up and clean up as instructed by the Director of Aquatics.
  • Keeps a record of members and children attending lessons and team practices.
  • Maintains a courteous, polite and helpful relationship with all Team members, all members and their guests.
  • Interacts with other Departments to ensure good communication and clarity with special concentration on Food & Beverage and Graphics Designer.
  • Assists in the planning, set up and direction of special events including all home Swim and Dive Meets and associated events, Family Fun Nights, Movie Nights, Live Music Happy Hours and special closures of the aquatics level due to Club events.
  • Records all class records, including registrations, attendance and performance records as determined by the Director of Aquatics.
  • Returns the pool deck area to the normal operating set up at the end of practices and home meets.
  • Reports all complaints, emergencies, hazards or faulty equipment to the Director of Aquatics and the Swimming Pool Manager.
  • Coordinates with the Aquatics Director and the Graphics Designer to keep the club website and Aquatics Team Unify page updated and current with Aquatics information, Team information, swimming and diving results, and upcoming events.

How we determine your qualifications:

  • Competitive swim and dive coaching experience
  • Competitive stroke teaching experience
  • Current CPR & First Aid certifications
  • Current ARC Life Saving, Swimming Coaches Safety Training or equivalents
  • Private club experience preferred
